I have been married for 18 years and i still cannot understand my wife. She can get me so angry that I don't even want to have any human contact of any kind with anybody for days. Recently we have had a bunch work done on the house and the garage is the last project that we have to deal with. Unfortunately this job we can't pay somebody to do so it is up to us. We have already put in the shelves that she has been wanting for a while and now the other side of the garage where all my stuff is is c…

Let me say right up front, I am an old bastard. I'm 60'ish (oh shit how did that happen). Something tripped a signal in my brain and I began a little trip down memory lane the other day. I have no clue as to what started it and wasn't even really trying. It just happened, kinda like the excuse your kids give you when you find a new spot on your carpet or your dog comes in with a big patch of hair shaved off his butt. Anyway, I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep and my innerself began tickin…

we go to my husband's family house on the lake (a Lake up in Michigan about a 3 hour drive) many times during the summer. We went for the first time this weekend. OMG, first the drive with a potty training 3 year old and a 10 month old.... Crazy. My 3 year old did well, but the 10 month old cried for half of the trip, the half I was driving. They both slept during the times my husband drove.
Dealing with my in-laws up there is crazy. My MIL was great this time. Did well with the kids, backed off…

Something I have always wondered about. Americans give somewhere around 200 or 300 Billion dollars (my estimate and not backed up by any type of research at all) a year to end a variety of causes (some good, some bad and some just bullshit) yet the causes, cures, fixes never come. WTF - where is all that money going and what is being done about the original problems???? There ate still homeless (when there are thousands of empty houses), there are still hungry (while there are countless cooking…

Anyone else notice that during the last episode of American Gladiators they revealed a new Gladiatrix named Phoenix, but went out of their way to completely hide her face during the show? Given the kind of smoker's rasp she was sporting during the show, Kim and I assumed it was because she was not-so-good-looking.
But we were totally wrong, as you can see here:

Thinking about that list of persons that probley would not make it through a pandemic made me realize some things about me.
The first being - I do not hold the sancity of life equal to everyone. Some people just do not deserve to live.
Second - There are no excuses for some of the actions or decisions some people make. Take something that is not yours to take and you must pay the price. I have been poor in the past but not once have I ever decided to pick up a weapon to force someone to give m…

Well, we're back, more or less. We're now back to doing the show just the way we did the early episodes - on a cheap Behringer mixer, straight into the Line In on the trusty computer.
New episodes should start again later today, though doing live shows is going to be a little tricky. I've got an idea for how we can get back
to livecasting, but it's going to involve all manner of trickery with
specialized patchcords and an extra computer in the mix.

One of my coworkers told me I was stupid the other day. Stupid and naive because I spend so much of my free time volunteering. And because I give to (select) charities.
She couldn't understand why I'd want to

I'm in Starbucks last night, picking up a couple of overpriced coffees which I use to ward off the worst of Kim's fatigue on the nights that we podcast. She's old, you know, so she tires easily.
While I'm waiting for the young man to deliver my iced hazelnut mocha and Kim's caramel frappuccino, this woman all of a sudden leans on me. Like, puts all her weight on me and drapes one arm over my shoulders, using the other hand to thrust a CD into my face.
"I don't have my glasses o…

The observant among you will no doubt have noticed that episode 53 did not make an appearance today. If you're lucky, you did get a sneak peek at episode 54, because talkshoe jacked up the feed momentarily. While it was fixed quickly, one episode disappeared into the wild prematurely.
Episode 53, however, suffered an untimely fate. Thought it has been since resurrected, it lay for many days in a shallow grave, it's body being picked over by gremlins and other jackals of a technological…

I think one of the things that makes RWTY podcast so enjoyable is some of the striking similarities between Sam and Kim and my wife and I. One of the big ones that always jumps out at me is that Kim and Katt (my wife) both seem to share that damnable double edged dagger which is “thriftiness”.
Having a penny pinching wife can be both a curse and a blessing at the same time. I'm convinced anyone…

As boring as Human Resources sounds it's actually a pretty neat job.
